KBM Affilips produce a full range of alloys for the global aluminium industry, including the critical Aluminium-Titanium-carbon grain refiner alloy. These superbly made master alloys are used in aluminum wrought alloys and foundry alloys for composition adjustments and structure control.

KBM Affilips aluminium-titanium carbon (AlTiC) rod is an effective grain refiner for a number of aluminium alloys, which include the Mg and Zr containing series, and in manufacturing boron treated EC grade aluminium.

Aluminium-Titanium-Carbon is a suitable alternative to Aluminium-Titanium-Boron grain refiners, especially for in applications where TiB2 is undesirable.

Examples include casting systems in which the presence of agglomerated TiB2 promotes premature filter blockage, surface defects caused by TiB2 agglomerates and grain refiner poisoning caused by the presence of zirconium.

AlTiC is found in the following forms:

The Aluminium titanium carbon alloy composition is shown in the Table below:

The application of AlTiC grain refiner master alloy is EC grade, 5000 and 7000 series aluminium alloys.

AlTiC grain refiner rod finds applications in a number of casthouses globally for a range of different alloys and semi finished products.

Hi! I want to ask about the practice of adding the AlTiC3/0.15 in EC aluminum. So this grain refiner must entry in the melting furnace, in the holding furnace or before the casting? Also which will be the criterion for quantity of the refiners per ton of metal produced? Thank you in advance.
