Teknia Group’s Acquisition of Forschner PTM GmbH – Global Legal Chronicle

GLNS advised Teknia Group on the deal.  Bakertilly was on the side of the Forschner Group.

The international Teknia Group, headquartered in Spain, has acquired Forschner PTM GmbH from the German Forschner Group. With this acquisition, Teknia also acquires its first production facility in Germany, further improving its access to German OEM customers.

Teknia was founded in 1992 as a global supplier to the automotive industry and specialises in the production of metal and plastic components for mobility solutions. In 2021, sales amounted to 324 million euros. With the acquisition of Forschner PTM GmbH, Teknia is further expanding its expertise in automotive turned parts. The components manufactured in Germany are particularly relevant for autonomous driving vehicles.

The Forschner Group, headquartered in Spaichingen, is one of the leading manufacturers of high-voltage and wiring systems for electromobility. Forschner PTM GmbH specialises in the manufacture of precision turned parts.

The GLNS team included Dr Daniel Gubitz (Picture), Dr Patrick Droese, Eva Maier (all Corporate/M&A) and Andreas Scheidle (Tax).

Internally, the transaction was accompanied by Teknia’s General Counsel Diego Martel.
