Machinery includes CNC milling, turning, and 5-axis.

Hurco announced MachineTech will be the exclusive distributor of Hurco CNC machines in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and parts of West Virginia.

Cory Miller, general manager of Hurco North America, says, “I know our customers are in good hands with the team at MachineTech. Hurco is fortunate to have a great network of experienced distributors who understand that service after the sale is the primary component to long-term success.”

With 40 years of experience, Rick Smith, founder of MachineTech, has built a family-owned business that’s known for working with customers to provide productive and cost-effective machining solutions. Their sales and engineering support teams are experienced with all aspects of CNC milling, turning, and 5-axis.

“The entire team is very proud to represent Hurco. Our training at their Indianapolis facility further solidified how Hurco’s control technology helps shops succeed,” says Smith. “The flexibility of the control, with NC programming and conversational programming, in addition to a unique feature called NC/Conversational Merge, makes high-mix manufacturing more productive and more profitable. In today’s labor market, ease of use is more important than ever, and as the inventor of conversational programming, Hurco continuously focuses on making sure their control is easy to learn and easy to use.”

Having one control across the entire product line of 70 different machines promotes growth and minimizes confusion, according to Smith. Whether a customer buys a 20 x 16 VM10i mill or a 3-meter DCXi double column machine, they can count on control technology with a straightforward user interface and robust control specifications, such as 10,000 block lookahead and a 128GB solid state hard drive.

The program includes a live demonstration of multiple cyber-attacks common in an industrial environment coupled with actions that manufacturers can take to mitigate these risks.

About the presentation Cybersecurity risks continue to grow as the manufacturing sector advances into the digital age and small and mid-sized manufacturers (SMMs) are particularly at risk. Battling an overload of information about cybersecurity threats and requirements, U.S. manufacturers seek a unified approach to securing the manufacturing sector. MxD’s cybersecurity roadshow dives into deployable tactics that SMMs use to reduce cyber risk in their supply chains. Attendees will be guided through the various cybersecurity standards and frameworks currently in place (such as NIST CSF/DFARS/CMMC) with an emphasis on addressing the unique challenges the manufacturing sector faces when adhering to these standards. The program includes a live demonstration of multiple cyber-attacks common in an industrial environment, coupled with actions that manufacturers can take to mitigate these risks and appropriately respond when they happen.
